Abstract

Culture is a way of human life and therefore it is passed down from generation to generation. Culture develop naturally through social interaction carried out by a group of people. Human life and natural surrounding have a very close and interdependent relationship, where human need to take care of nature and culture so that nature can protect human. The purpose of this research is to explore and interpret the tradition of the Renrua community about "Kuru We Fohon" as a cultural value that need to be high up because through this tradition the people of Renrua can express gratitude and ask for grace to Jesus as a source of life water. The researcher used a qualitative approach to investigate the meaning of the Kuru We Fohon tradition of the Renrua community. Based on the finding in this study regarding the Kuru We Fohon tradition of taking water, which is considered the most sacred according to the people of Renrua village (uma lulik). So the author conclude that with the tradition of "Kuru We Fohon", the people of Renrua village have cultural values ​​that serve as life guideline that play a role in regulating the community in Renrua village.
