Abstract

The focus of this research is to know understanding the people of the Tana Ai Tribe, Nebe Village, Talibura District, Sikka Regency about the meaning of the Neni Wair Uran ritual and its religious values. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive model. Data collection technique using observation, interview and documentation. While the data analysis technique is done by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusion. The result showed that the Tana Ai Tribe community fully understood the meaning of the Neni Wair Uran ritual which was carried out annually by the Tana Ai Tribe in Nebe Village before the planting season. Beside that, the people of the Tana Ai Tribe in Nebe Village also really understand the religious values ​​contained in the Neni Wair Uran ritual. Therefore, it is recommended that the Tana Ai Tribe Chief continue to carry out this ritual every year, the Tana Ai Tribe people are right to protect and pass on this ancestral ritual to the next generation, and the village government needs to promote this ritual not only to making it more public known but also showing wealth cultural treasure in East Nusa Tenggara Province.
